Jewelry & Metal Allergies
According to the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology:
I personally have suffered with much more than rash and inflamation. My allergic reaction has been severe enough to include temporary deformation, cracked and bleeding skin, infection that spreads on and under the skin, thickening of the skin, clear fluid seepage, pussing, and crusty intensely itchy thick flakes on the skin that hurt when I scratch, but I have to.
I’ve also had multiple customers complain of these symptoms and more, with one customer reporting poison ivy type of rash, which is exactly how it feels to me too.
Although allergic reactions can vary from person to person, the most important thing I have learned is to not ignore the message your body is trying to tell you. Although allergies can come and go without reason, the only thing you can do is avoid the allergen. Consider it a toxin to your body, and stay away from it as you would keep your child from fire.
